For my Olympics Opening Ceremonies Fete last Friday, I really wanted to create a fun, theme-inspired dessert. When I came across this recipe here I simply needed to have it at my party. I knew I wouldn’t have time to master candied sugar but when I found these adorable silicone ice cream cone cupcake holders here, I decided to adapt. I gave my cupcakes a little flame using varying shades of icing to create a cute fiery swirl. The cones also came with ready-to-mix cupcake batter, which helped my situation in this case, as I was running out of time before guests arrived.
I am eager to test out the lemon cupcakes from the original recipe and would love to incorporate some blueberry action in the mix. For now, I highly encourage you to try these decorating ideas & add a little Olympic flair to your next dessert!
