While the heat is still present here in the city, there are hints of change in the air. With cooler mornings as a daily reminder that fall is creeping up on us, my brain can’t help but rummage through last year’s wardrobe. While I tend to auto-associate fall with layers, my mind is also dancing with colours & patterns seen on the F/W 2012 runways.
I explored some of these trends by using one of my favourite fall pieces: jackets. I love jackets and am truly a jacket fiend. I tend to have a coat or two for every mood or occasion. Here I took three basic styles (neutrals, colours & prints and denim) and picked pieces using some of the biggest trends I saw on the runway earlier this year.
From updated classics like a trench or denim jacket with leather sleeves or piping, to solid colours and neutrals made from soft wool, these jackets are not only fit for fall 2012 but bound to remain trend-worthy for years to come.
